A fever is the body’s normal response to infection. In most children it goes away within three days.
At home
- Offer plenty of fluids
- Dress your child in light clothes
- Use children’s fever medicine as directed on the pack if they are uncomfortable
Call us or seek care if your child
- Is under three months old with a temperature of 38°C (100.4°F) or above
- Has a fever for more than three days
- Is unusually drowsy or hard to wake
- Has a rash that does not fade when pressed with a glass
